Message from the President

Welcome to our 39th year! The Forum’s Board is pleased to announce another year of timely and beneficial programs.

It has to get worse before it gets better, right? That's the silver lining in Santa Clara County Assessor’s annual report, as the South Bay's economy, often seen as a bellweather for the state's financial well-being, has hit "rock-bottom," as in cannot get worse. "Silicon Valley’s economy has finally hit bottom, and is showing meager signs of improvement," Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone said in his annual report, released on August 24.

Our first meeting, on Tuesday, September 27, will feature Santa Clara County Supervisor Liz Kniss, who represents Santa Clara County’s Fifth District, presenting on Health Care Reform – Fiscal Implications for Employers and Santa Clara County. Supervisor Kniss is sure to bring a unique insider’s view as an advocate for health in our County, across the State – and the nation. Networking starts at 5:30 PM, and dinner starts at 6:00 PM.

Complete meeting information may be found on our website at www.financialplanningforum.org. There you may register your attendance for the 27th and renew your membership! As you renew your membership, please note our three membership categories (regular member, sustaining member and corporate member). While you’re there, please check out the calendar for scheduled programs throughout the coming year.

See you on the 27th!

Sincerely,
David Sacarelos
President, Board of Directors
