PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
2006 is off to a fast start, and after having a very good year
both personally and professionally in 2005, I'm looking forward
an even stronger one this year.
Last Month's Program
Professor Meir Statman of Santa Clara University presented a
great program on "Behavioral Finance: Normal Investors,
Then and Now." He provided a very different perspective
on how our investor clients view risk; how they assemble portfolios;
the effects of sentiment and other emotions on investor behavior;
and how these factors impact market performance
Next Month's Program
On February 28, 2006, Tracy Herrick, the Economist for The Private
Bank of the Peninsula and will be speaking on "The Housing Bubble."
More About January's Speakers
Mark R. Shepherd is a partner with the Palo Alto law firm of
Crist, Schulz, Biorn & Shepherd. He has both a J.D.
degree and an L.L.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Mark is a distinguished past president of the Financial Planning
Forum, and was co-counsel in the Cristofani case in 1991.
George P. Delucchi, CPA, is a founding Partner and the Senior
Partner of Delucchi, Hawn & Company in San Jose.
Mr. Delucchi heads up the tax practice for the firm and is widely
recognized for his expertise in estate, gift and trust, charitable
giving, retirement and related services, and he is frequently
engaged as a speaker on these topics.
Mr. Delucchi is an accounting graduate from San Jose State University
. He is a member of AICPA, CSCPA, California State Society's
Committee on Professional Conduct, as well as many governing
Boards and charities. He is also a fellow of the American College
of Forensic Examiners and past President of the San Jose Chapter
of the CPA Society.
They will be discussing the legal, practical and tax implications
of the various forms of entities which our clients should consider
for the ownership of their businesses and professions, and for
their investments.
